Bad Teachers' Work Ethic is the Cause of Decline in Education Quality in My Country

Some indicators that show a bad work ethic can be seen from the following:

1. Lack of discipline presence

Teachers must arrive at school by 7 am. But many teachers came late. Even if they weren't late, they mostly came at 7 o'clock.

Isn't there a system that regulates attendance?

Yes, there is! There are even 3 systems used, namely using a fingerprint machine, live camera and manual.

Fingerprint machines are in every school and are used by teachers and staff. Then every month the attendance list is printed and reported to the leadership.

The problem occurs because when printed the attendance list is edited. So there are no more late teachers, all teachers come on time, perfect! And this goes on forever.

Not much different from the fingerprint system, the live camera system also has many problems. The main problem is on the website that is used. Whether due to insufficient hosting capacity or other problems, websites that are used to record attendance are often down. As a result, many teachers cannot do live cameras on time. They were forced to make a presence when the time showed more than 7 o'clock.

The last line of defense should be manual recording of teacher attendance by a designated officer. In some schools this can work well but most schools do not. In fact, if this is done and then a recapitulation of attendance is made, it will be clear who is the most diligent teacher and who is the laziest teacher.

2. The teachers often leave the classroom

Leaving the classroom means the same as leaving teaching time, the same as abandoning students. Each teacher has their own reasons why they do this.

For example repairing damaged school equipment, training children ahead of certain events, jobs related to additional tasks (committee, treasurer).

Students are annoying teachers

Teachers are lazy to teach in classrooms because students are not enthusiastic, students are too noisy or students do not obey the teacher's orders. Students ask the teacher to read but the students don't want to, the teacher wants to check the homework but the students don't do it and so on.
